Letting go of the need to win

I believe humans have a subtle mind programming done by
society and parents to win in order to be seen as worthy.
- The man or a woman wins when they get successful in their profession (good job title) or a good looking mate with some riches.
- The teenager wins when they are most popular at school
- The spiritual student wins when they have the altered experiences
- The mother wins when her children get into a top school
- The rich win when they have the million dollar home with the million dollar view
Having been part of this race to win, unconsciously for
the best part of my life, I understand the root beliefs:
- Winning fills the emptiness within
- Winning can get the approval of a critical parent
- Winning is needed for survival – to feel safe, to feel worthy, to feel lovable
The root cause is an emotional wound from the past that
needs to be revealed and healed from the unconscious mind, so one can live life
without the need to win or be number 1.
I recently read resumes on Linked in on the emphasis
made on “MBA from the Top 10 Universities”!
- Does this MBA ensure we never have a bad karmic experience in our life?
- Does this MBA protect one from job loss, relationship loss, health loss, lack of harmony and fulfillment?
- Does this distinction mean one is better than another?
Not at all
The education is a choice we make to expand our mind
and use parts of our brain not used before.
It means we used our abilities to stretch our self and
gain more information to use in our work. Using different parts of our brain is
wonderful!
However, it does not make us special.
If we think it does, we have bought into discrimination
and now see the world with the eyes of inequality.
I needed this perspective and a wakeup call, so I stop
this limiting conditioning.
- I now set goals because it expands my mind and it gives me joy. I don’t want to set goals to be “someone”. Only I can build myself worth by loving parts of me that I mistakenly felt was unlovable. It is not another person’s job to do this.
- I desire prosperity and success in my career because I want to know what it is to be a senior executive in Corporate.
- I desire having a beautiful home in the mountains, as I love silence, beauty and peace from being in nature.
- I desire to be physically fit and look great, because I feel good when I am not taking in food because of an unhealed emotional issue.
- I desire for my book to be read by people. It feels good to be able to touch someone’s life and uplift them. It feels good to be recognized, however it will not fill my emptiness within – which is only filled by my inner work (emotional and spiritual healing).
The much heard “survival
of the fittest” works well when we only have the use of the reptilian
brain. However our brains have evolved from then, and it is now time for expanded
thinking through breaking free from condition placed by our parents, media and
society.
It is time to ask the question “Is this true” and get an honest fearless answer from the heart, and
not the unconscious mind with unhealed inner child aspects.
The reasons to win needs to be revealed and released
from the unconscious mind with the help of an emotional wellness teacher. They can gently get the unconscious mind to
reveal the reasons for the reason to win, re-parent it and open doors, with
time, for a more fulfilling life.
When
we live to win, we lose happiness, peace and a life of fulfillment.
